One of the questions we hear frequently at Western Dermatology Consultants is: “How do I know if CoolSculpting® is working?” Our Albuquerque, NM-based team is aware that patients will be eager to see their more defined, slimmer body contours after this treatment, but one thing to keep in mind is that the treatment works gradually. In other words, you’ll need to be patient, since it can take some time before the final results show. Even a few weeks after your session may be too early to judge the results.

CoolSculpting® is a non-surgical body contouring procedure that uses freezing temperatures to destroy fat cells in targeted areas of the body. The treatment is popular because it’s non-invasive and requires little to no downtime.

So how do you know if CoolSculpting® is working? Here are some signs to look for:

Reduction in Fat

The most obvious sign that CoolSculpting® is working is a reduction in fat in the treated area. You should start to see a difference in the appearance of the area about three weeks after the treatment, with full results visible in about two to three months.

Visible Changes in Your Body

CoolSculpting® can help reshape and contour your body, and you’ll notice the changes as the targeted area becomes slimmer and more toned. These changes can help improve your overall appearance and boost your confidence. It can be helpful to take some baseline photos and measurements of the treated areas to help you evaluate the changes that are taking place.

Clothes Fit Better

As you start to see a reduction in fat, you may notice that your clothes fit better or even feel looser. This can be a great sign that the treatment is working and that you’re on your way to achieving your desired body shape.

No New Fat Deposits

One of the benefits of CoolSculpting® is that it removes the treated fat cells, and they can’t grow back. As a result, you shouldn’t see new fat deposits forming in the treated area if you maintain a healthy lifestyle. Keep in mind that the remaining fat cells can grow larger if given the chance, so be sure to eat a sensible diet and exercise regularly to maintain the best results.

Our team can evaluate your progress and help you determine if you need additional treatments or if your goals have been met.
