Fillers

Fillers are gel-like substances that we inject just under your skin to add or restore volume. As previously mentioned, this non-surgical cosmetic procedure has a variety of benefits such as accentuating certain facial features, softening wrinkles, and replenishing volume for a smoother, more youthful appearance. Most fillers are designed for static wrinkles–ones that remain on our face even when our facial muscles are relaxed and tend to become more pronounced with age. Dermal fillers are usually applied to the lower two-thirds of the face, such as around the mid-face, mouth, and jaw areas.

One of the major advantages of these injectables is that the results appear instantly with no waiting time, and they are long-lasting, though the longevity will vary depending on the type of filler that is used. Downtime is minimal. Since these injectables are eventually absorbed by the body, results are only temporary.

Patients who are physically healthy, non-smokers, maintain a positive outlook and realistic goals for improving their appearance, and are committed to maintaining good health will typically be ideal candidates for this treatment. Individuals who already have a square jaw or chiselled jawline will usually not be considered suitable candidates for jawline fillers.

We provide several types of dermal fillers from the Juvederm^® and Restylane^® collections. We will work with you to recommend the most suitable filler for you based on your skin type, age, desired results, and other factors. Juvederm^® and Restylane^® are made with hyaluronic acid-a naturally occurring substance that is already found in your skin and provides hydration to it. These injectables typically have a soft, gel-like consistency. Each of the products in the Juvederm^® and Restylane lines has a different particle size.

Juvederm Volbella^® is a lightweight injectable that is designed to add lip volume and soften vertical lip lines with softer, more understated results while Juvederm^® Ultra adds more significant volume for a bolder transformation if you would like to achieve more dramatic results. Restylane^® Kysse, which is formulated with XpresHAn Technology^™, is also intended for adding fullness and definition to the lips. It has a high level of flexibility and support, and it moves with each facial expression seamlessly for very natural-looking, precise results.

Juvederm Volux^™ has a thicker consistency that provides a degree of lift and structure. This injectable filler can provide a sharper, more defined jawline or restore volume for those who experience moderate to severe loss of jawline definition. It can also provide a more sculpted appearance to the lower face if you have a “weak jawline” or receding chin due to genetics or adjust facial proportions to improve the harmony and balance of the face. Volux^™ is specifically approved for the jawline and chin.

Botox^® and Dysport^® are injectable neuromodulators or wrinkle relaxers that provide a smoother appearance but work differently to fillers. Neuromodulators temporarily block certain chemical signals that cause muscle contractions, providing a smoother and more youthful appearance. They relax the muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles such as frown lines. Skin rejuvenation procedures not only soften wrinkles but also enhance the general quality of the skin. Chemical peels, RF microneedling, and microdermabrasion can address a variety of skin concerns including uneven skin tone, uneven skin texture, dryness, and dull or blotchy skin.
