Physician Assistant General and Cosmetic Dermatology

Carol Purcell, PA-C, is a licensed health care professional who practices medicine in partnership with Western Dermatology Consultants, P.C. She specializes in dermatology and cosmetic treatments and has extensive experience using lasers for a variety or procedures to treat sun damage, acne, hair removal and a wide variety of skin conditions and diseases.

Prior to joining the practice in 2008, Carol worked in Orange County, California at Natural Image Med Center. Carol evaluates and treats all types of dermatology patients. She performs biopsies, excisions, and medical grade chemical peels.

Carol graduated with honors from Cal State Dominguez Hills with a BA in health sciences prior to obtaining her Physician Assistant certification from Western University of Health Sciences in 2001. She also is certified in advanced cardiac life support. Her commitment to continuing education and her profession is demonstrated by memberships in the American and California Academies of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.

KimRenee Breen, RN
Aesthetic Nurse Specialist

KimRenee Breen has been a Registered Nurse for over 18 years. After working for several years in the medical surgical floors and operating & recovery rooms at hospitals, she was encouraged by physicians to go into the cosmetic surgery field. She has since worked for plastic surgeons, in day surgery, and for the past two years took on the aesthetic skin care program for a plastic surgery practice. We are so pleased that KimRenee has joined the top notch medical team at The Spa at WDC. KimRenee specializes in Botox and fillers, and sclerotherapy treatment for spider veins. In addition to these services, KimRenee also offers permanent makeup treatments and areolar micro-pigmentation for breast reconstructions. She thoroughly enjoys educating her clients about the largest organ of the body - "the skin" with an emphasis that good health entails maintenance inside and "outside".

Kim Renee is the mother of three and is enjoying her first grandchild. She keeps busy playing softball, singing in a church choir and dashing off to Roswell, NM to see her fiancée.

Renee Barela
Aesthetician & Medical Assistant

Renee joined The Spa @ WDC in 2003. Renee specializes in a cellulite treatment called Endermology and the laser tightening treatment Thermage. She is a firm believer in products and the treatments she gives, which help her clients feel great about themselves and their skin. Renee assists Dr. Sara Mills on her cosmetic days ranging from Laser Treatments to Botox, Line Fillers, and Sclero Therapy. She loves her job and it shows as her happy, giving, and caring soul feeds off on our staff and clientele. She enjoys spending her free time with her family and helping others in her Santa Fe community.

Nicole Ortega
Aesthetician

Nicole has been with the Spa since December of 2001. She began her career here as an intern with the New Mexico Aveda Institute and has a wide range of knowledge in the aesthetic field. She also has experience in using the skin tightening treatment known as Thermage. She also assists Dr. Leslie Glass on her cosmetic days, which range from laser treatments to Botox and Line Filler. Nicole is a big fan of animals. She has 3 dogs and a cat. She enjoys spending time with her nieces and traveling. Working with her clients to help them achieve results and maintain healthy skin is what she enjoys most about her job.

Melissa Schultz, LMT, NTS, RYT
Massage Therapist

The Spa at WDC is excited to offer massage therapy and welcomes Melissa to its team. Her love of health, wellness, beauty and people will be a nice fit for The Spa @ WDC.

Melissa is a graduate of the New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics and is a Licensed Massage Therapist and Natural Therapeutic Specialist. She is trained in a wide variety of modalities including Swedish, polarity, reflexology, acupressure and Shiatsu. She has studied flower essences, homeopathy, herbal medicine and essential oils. Melissa combines a gentle and nurturing touch with her knowledge of bodywork to design a session specifically suited to her client's needs. She also seeks to connect the body and mind to create a relaxing and holistic experience.

Before studying bodywork, Melissa attended the International Institute of Chinese Medicine and is a Registered Yoga Teacher. She is currently in the process of becoming an Ayurvedic Health Counselor.

Melissa loves animals, nature and the outdoors and traveling.
